How TOGGER works

Short a player? Post it once.

TOGGER fills last-minute gaps in adult 5, 6 and 7-a-side games across Wirral. It is free, it is 18+, and it does not run your game for you. It finds you a spare man.

The whole thing in twenty seconds. No sound.

I’m short for tonight. What do I do?

Post a call-up: the ground, the time, the format, how many you need and what the game costs a player. Local players who match it get told, most reliable first. Nobody is added to your game automatically. You see who put their hand up and you pick. That is the whole point of it.

Posting a call-up, tap by tap. This is the real app, not a mock-up.

I want a game. How do I get picked?

Fill in your player card once: your level, where you play, which nights you are free and how far you will travel. After that you get told about call-ups that match you, and you tap to put your hand up. The organiser decides.

Your player card, start to finish. You only do this once.

What does an organiser see about me?

Your name and picture, your level and positions, roughly how far you are from their ground, your turn-up record, and any praise organisers have left. That is it. You can see the exact card yourself on your profile, under How organisers see you.

Your phone number stays hidden unless you tick the box to share it.

What is the turn-up record?

Games played, turned up, late, no-shows. Nothing else. It is kept separate from your level and separate from conduct on purpose, because rolling all three into one score hides all three. Turning up is the only thing you control, so it is the only thing the record is about.

If a no-show is wrong, you can challenge it and a person looks at it. It stops counting while they do.

Can someone slag me off on here?

No. There is no free-text box anywhere. Organisers tick from a fixed list after a game, and the list is praise only: on time, good standard, easy to play with, paid up, would have them back. Nothing negative ever appears on your card.

Anything raised about safety goes straight to a person. It is never published and it is never turned into a score.

What does it cost?

Nothing. TOGGER is free and there is no payment in it. When a call-up says “£5 at the game”, that is what you hand the organiser on the night. TOGGER does not touch it.

My ground isn’t listed.

Add it. Give the name, the area, the postcode and what it is set up for, and it comes through for checking before anyone can post a game there. That is deliberate: it keeps the list to real, bookable places. Suggest a ground.

How do I get one of the good pictures?

Every picture is yours from the off. Pick whichever you like on your profile. Special cards get added over time, and those are earned by turning up to games. Never by being picked: you cannot control whether an organiser chooses you, so it would be a daft thing to reward.

18 and over

TOGGER is for adults only. Organisers confirm they are 18 or over before they can post, and players confirm it before they can join.
